SGVP was started in backward areas to spread
Gandhian philosophy after the independence in India in late 1961. According
to census, Mehsana district had more than 18,00,000 population. Considering
the need of the time the Government of Gujarat granted one more Sarvodaya
Centre.
The aim of education of the SGVP is to enable the
students to maintain their relations with the villages, to make them love
the villages and to prepare them as rural leaders.
SGVP has established many institutions and
undertaken several activities for the rural development at Shri M.H.Patel
Gramseva Mahavidhyalay, Samoda-Ganwada
